WEDDINGS.
McDOUGAR —GILCHRIST.
A wedding was celebrated at the Gospel Hall, Rongotea, on Wesdnesday, when Mr Duncan McDougal, of Bonny Glen, Marton, and Miss Asnes Gilchrist, of Cairn Farm, Scotland, were married. The ceremony was conducted by Mr T. Rowe, and the Wedding March was played by Miss Ethel Rowe, and the hall had been decorated by friends of the bride and. bridegroom. The bride wore a gown of white crepe de chine, trimmed with Maltese lace and silver, and wore a veil and orange blossoms, and a spray of Scotch heather, and carried a spray of white chrysanthemums and fern. The bridesmaid. Miss Annie Hunt, wore white silk trimmed with pink, and a picture hat trimmed with pink. Her bouquet was of pink chrysanthemums. The bridegroom’s gift to the bridesmaid was a gold pendant and chain. Mr James Moxham was best man. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the residence o* Mr M. Hunt, of Willow Creek, when afternoon tea was dispensed. Mr and Mrs Duncan McDougal left for their new home at Bonny Glen, the bride wearing a beautiful overcoat, the material of which she had woven in her Highland home. KERRIGAN —CORBY. At St. Joseph’s Church, Buckle Street, Wellington, on the 9th June, Miss Aileen Corby, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs P. W. Corby, EUice Street, was married to Mr Owen Kerrigan, second son of Mr and Mrs P. Kerrigan, ’’Fairview,” Ashhurst. The Rev Father Bowe. assisted by Dean McKenna and Father Outrim, performed the ceremony and celebrated the nuptial mass. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a tailored suite of cream gabardine, with cream brocade satin front and small trico'ii hat of cream velour. Her bouquet was of white roses, chrysanthemums and maiden hair fern, with white tulle streamers. The bridesmaid.- were Miss Kathleen Corby, sister of the bride, and little Miss Monica Spelman, niece of the bridegroom, the former wearing a. tailored suite of lavender grey, and rose pink velour bat. The little maid was in cream gabardine, embroidered in saxe blue and a white panne velvet hat trimmed with blue to match. The bridegroom prwent to the bride was a diamond cluster ring; to the bridesmaids, ivory backed toilet sets. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a gold watch.
