PARORANGI HEREFORDS.
DISPLENISHJNG SALE. The sale of Mr E. Short’s stud Herefords was continued at Feilding yesterday, when there was again a large attendance of breeders from all parts of the Dominion. The demand for matured bulls was not up to expecta-!-lions, and in the case of the champion ■ animal Champion 50th, Mr Short con- | sidercd the price offered so much bei low his value that he withdrew him f from sale and announced his inten- ! tion of sending him to America for sale as an object lesson of what could | be bred and grown in the Dominion. | The highest price realised was 410gns ! for Luster 2nd, and an imported aniI mal, which was purchased for Wairoa, I while the next highest price was paid r by Mr N. G. Short, of Waituna, for < Chancellor 92nd, for which he gave 300gns, while Eaton Oak and Chant cellor 104 th made 220gns and 200gns respectively, and Luster 14th 190gns. Other bulls ranged from 60 to 85gns for best sorts, and from 30 to 45gns for good, and from 20 to 25gns for J others. The best price for bull calves was llOgns, while other really good sorts brought from 50 to Ssgns, good from 30 to 46gns, and others from 15 to 25gns. Best 21-year-old heifers I were in fair demand and made from 50 to SOgns, good from 30 to 46gns, ■ and others from 20 to 27gns. There i was a keen demand for 18-month-old heifers, best bringing from SO to 105 gns, good from 30 to 46gns, and others from 15 to 25gns.
