UP, AND AWAY.

(Per Press Association.) WHAKATANE, Last night. Standing handily near the Whakatane police station this morning, was the chief constable’s motor car. It attracted the attention of two prisoners work 1 ng in the grounds, and while the constable was busy inside as clerk of the court, they seated themselves in the car and vanished. When they and the car were missed later, the telephone was set working and thq runaways located speeding to Te Puke. The constable is now in pursuit.
