(president), presided over a large attendance oi" members. The resignation of Mr I . 1 ■ -tienderson (secretary). Mrs Henderson and Miss A. F. Ironside were received with regret. Lady Chaytor, who also is leaving Palmerston North. wrote regretting her inability to take Curtbei active part, though she would be pleased to continue as the .Society s patron. , , , The balance-sheet showed a balance of £35 S/l, and in moving its adoption Mr J A. Nash paid a tribute to the work of Mr Kunnicles, to whose energy the success of the Society's first concert was due. He would formally move that an honorarium ol 12 guineas be voted to Mr Kunnicles in appreciation of his excellent services, and the motion was carried by acclamation. Appreciation of their services will also be conveyed to Mr and Mrs Henderson and Kady Chaytor. Mr Holmes Kunnicles, the Society's conductor, thanked the meeting for their kindness, but said he did* not wish to denude the Society ot its funds. Owing to the energy of the lady canvassers and the consequent influx of honorary members. the booking for the concert had been phenomenal, and the receipts had reached a very gratifying total. He thanked Mr A. Hannay for his offer of part of the expenses of the visiting vocalists, in the event of the financial failure of the concert —a fear that was fortunately far from .justified.
