ALLEGED MURDER.

THE CLARENDON HOTEL TRAGEDY. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Yesterday. At the Police Court, Harold Stapleton, aged 20 years, and Alexander Cappell, 21 years, were charged -with 1 the murder of Frank Brasier, licensee of the Clarendon Hotel. Mr Singer, for the accused, asked for bail. He said Brasier was interfering -with one of the accused men m a bedroom. The man called to his mate for assistance. There was a struggle in the dark, with the result that Brasier was knocked down. The injury which caused death was caused by falling. The Magistrate said he bad ordered a post mortem to get evidence on this point. In the meantime he would not allow bail.
