VIOLENCE IN ELTHAM.

(Per Press Association). ELTHAM, December 10. .Religious fooling is entering the contest for tlio Egniont seat as a result of a P.P.A. circular. Last night three plateglass windows were smashed in the shop of Ira .1. Bridger, president of the Egmont branch of the P.P.A. It is understood the police know the offender. [The circular signed by Mr Bridger contained those words: “The sons and daughters of this grand Dominion have fought and died in the groat fight for liberty, and there remains a solemn duty resting upon the electors to keep New Zealand clean and to show those who have been disloyal during the war that their presence is not wanted in this country. The Protestants of Now Zealand can expect very little from the present leadin' of the Opposition Party, and while he is their chosen leader it becomes an easy duty to decide which is the right man to support at this time. Those candidates Avho support Ward, indirectly are supporting Rome and those who proved disloyal during the war. ’ ’
