HOROWHENUA NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Shannon managed to turn the tables in the return cricket match ■with the Y.M.C.A. Club at Levin on Saturday, winning’by five wickets and three runs. The local amateur athletic .club commences the season’s activities tomorrow by holding two short-distance races on the domain. The annual meeting of the club will be held in the evening. The Levin Borough Council is making tbe test of its excellent water supply and extensions of the service arc continually being made to the adjoining districts. Negotiations are now in progress for the linking up of the Kawiu and Keatherlea East. The Horownenua A. and P. Association held a very successful shop day on Saturday in aid of the show funds, when about £t»o was netted. News has been received of the death at Wanganui of Mrs E. V. Laws, a sister of Mr T. G. ’Vincent, of Levin.
