Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report having held a most successful clearing sale on account of Mr F. W. Mayo, Foxton Line, on the 24th inst, tho herd of cows, including springing heifers, averaging £2l. Following are prices realised: —Springing cow £l9 10/, springing heifers £ls, £22 10/ to £25 10/, heifers in milk £2O, cows in milk £l4, £lB, £l9 10/, £2O, £22 15/, £23 to £33, yearling heifers £8 7/0, yearling steers £0 10/, 2-yr steers £9 7/0, horses £O, £2l, spring trap £ls 10/, harness £8 17/0. All sundries sold well at late rates.

The Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-op. Association, Ltd. (stock department), Pahiatua, report having held a very successful clearing sa 1 o on account of Mr G. H. Brown, of Mangarama, on 17th September, 1919. The pedigree Jerseys came forward in fair condition and met with keen competition, buyers being present from Palmerston North, Dannevirke, and local breeders operating freely. The prices for the pedigree cows and heifers ranged from 30 gns to 61 gns, the latter price being paid for Jersey Corner Alsykc, by Mr S. R. Lancaster, of Palmerston North. The following sales were made: 3 pedigree cows to Mr Lancaster at 61, 42 and 30 gns; 3 pedigree do. to Mr E. S. Holdaway at 58, 49* and 30 gns; 3 do. to Mr A. J. Maddern at 40, 40 and 16 gns, including one heifer; 2 do. to Messrs Edlin Bros, at 36 and 22% gns; 1 heifer to Mr Lovelock at 28 gns; 1 do. to Mr Mclntosh at 20 gns; 1 do. to Mr Costal at 20 gns; 3 pedigree bulls at 25%, 18% and 16 gns; the cows averaging £3B 9/ per head. Grade cows sold at the following prices: 1 at £34, do. £2O, do. £2O, do. £23, do. £3O, do. £l9 5/, do. £25, do. £2B, do. £3O, do. £l4 15/; springing heifers £lB and £l6 10/; 1 sow with litter £l6 5/; 4 sows from £8 to £lO/; 7 store pigs £4 7/; and a host of sundries sold at full clearing sale rates.
