BUNNYTHORPE SPORTS.
The Bunnythorpo Athletic Club held its annual gathering on their ideal grounds yesterday. The weather was not auspicious, there being a constant drizzle of rain throughout the day, but despite this there was a good attendance. The arrangements left nothing to be desired and the officials are to be congratulated on the success attained. The presence of the Palmerston North Municipal Baud added much to the day’s enjoyment. Several events were cancelled owing to adverse circumstances, included among these being the Highland dancing competitions. Boat swings and numerous other attractions afforded the children much delight. The sweet stall in charge of Mrs E. Ransom and Misses Scheldt, did excellent business, while the afternoon tea catering was successfully carried out by the ladies of the Patriotic Committee. The club desires to thank all donors of trophies. The results of the events arc appended:— Boys’ Race (under 12). —T. Taylor 1, M. Thomas 2. Girls’ Race (under 12). J. McKay 1, B. Duthie 2.
