Mr Milner Stanhope visited the New Zealand convalescent camp at Hornchurch, and investigated the military education system and expressed strongest approval of the principle of compulsion which applies to a. certain proportion of education throughout the NewZealand forces, also the continuity of instruction from camp to camp. The men's obvious enthusiasm for the work and absence of aimless loitering greatly impressed the visitors. Also the importance of mental training, which assisted rapid recovery.
