R.S.A and S.D.L.
The Returned Soldiers’ Association had a letter before it last night from the Second Division League in regard to a resolution passed by the Returned Soldiers ' Conference at Auckland, expressing disapproval of the aime of the League. This resolution seems to have been exercising the minds of many branches of the Returned Soldiers' Asociation since the conference, and the Marlborough branch has sent a letter to the various branches which sets out in detail their objections to the resolution in question and proceeds to say:— We are strongly of the opinion that the conference was misled by one or two members of the executive and arrived at a very hasty and incorrect conclusion, and have thereby placed the Returned Soldiers’ Association in a very awkward position in the eyes of the public, and it rests with the local associations to let the public see that if the returned soldiers cannot actively support the Second Division League they are at least grateful for what has been achieved by the Second Division League on their behalf, in the way of increased pensions and allowances.
