Ashhurst Notes
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The many friends of Mr and Mrs J. Currie will regret to learn that their infant son is dangerously ill at Palmerston North Hospital. Mr and Mrs W. Hanlon have gone on a visit to New Phvmonm. Miss Hartley, our popular teacher, has gone on a visit to her parents at Marton. Mrs and Miss Castles have left on a visit to Invercargill. The wedding of Mr T. Baton to Miss Mona Bishop will take place at Masterton on Wednesday, June st.h, and we all wish Tim and his future wife the best of luck. 'fhe Ashhurst Pioneers football team are going strong, and donations have started to pour in freely. Mr Hobson is the chief of the footballers. By the look of things in the gorge length last Sunday things were only middling. Rocks wore rolling down or pushed down by the gang, and amongst tl>e lookers-on were Mr .Noy***, Inspector of P.W. Where was Mr Hiley and his extra bub a day? Sunday is a day of rest.
