Promote an Offensive. [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] ROME, Oct. 25. The “Tribuna” states that tho Austrians have concentrated twenty divisions on the Middle Isonzo front. LONDON, Oct. 24. An Italian official message states that the enemy concentrated strong forces, a large portion being German troops, and an intense artillery action at night on the Julian front, between Eombou and the northern portion of the Baisizza plateau, marked the beginning of an attack. Owing to bad weather the lire decreased at dawn. THOUSANDS OF PRISONERS. (Received Thursday, 8.57 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 25. A German wireless message says: We made a combined attack on the Italian front, making progress and taking some thousands of the Italians prisoner. MEANING OF THE MOVE. (Received Thursday, 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, Oet. 24. A correspondent at Italian headquarters says:—Practically the whole Austrian army is now on the Italian front, also strong German'reinforcements. Apparently it is intended to attack Tolmino with a view to forcing the Italians to abandon the Bainsizza Plateau and retire to the Isonzo line.
