Bookmakers in Trouble.

A "PUNTER" PINED.

[Per Presh Association.] AUCKLAND, Last Night. Two bookmakers, Alexander Lindsay Mackie and Leonard Andrews, were fined £IOO each for betting on licensed premises. Henry McCormack, charged, with being in Fort Street for the purpose of betting, was fined £25. All pleaded guilty and paid the fines forthwith. The case against McCormack is the first in Auckland, and it is believed also in the Dominion of a "punter" being fined.
