PAEIs TOURNEY. A handicap pairs tourney was held on the Palmemon Bowling Green yesterday. A good number of players entered, and several keen games were witnessed. Twelve heads were played in each game. The greens were in excellent order
The following were the pairs and their respective handicaps:—Plunkett and Hodgson (scr); Duncan and Baylies (scr); Stewart and Pickering (scr); Dustin and Harris (scr); Duncan and Hancock (scr); Stevens and Brophy (scr); Brown and Jolly (scr); Nic.holls ami Griggs (1); McEwen and •Webb (1); Hankins and Larking (1); Simmons and Wilson (2); Haywood and Tattersall (2); Bryant and Childs (2); and Mitchell and Torbit (4). The first round resulted:—Pickering !> v. Brophy 8; Paynes 15 v. Hodgson -!; Marris 14 v. Larking .10; Wilson 15 v. G-riggs 13; Jolly 28 v.| Torbit 4; Hancock 14 v. Tattersall «; Childs 19 v. Webb 4.
Second round: Pickering 15 v. Hodgson 18; Webb 22 v. Torbit 11; Griggs 13 v. Brophy 7; Marris 12 v. Bayncs 11; Tattersall .14 v: Larking 12;' Childs 13 v. Wilson 12; Jolly 28 v. Hancock 8.
At the end of the day Stewart and Pickering (s) and Bustin and Marris (s) had seon-d "> wins each and will play off. •
