Wood’s many Palmerston friends will be pleased to hear that te is now enjoying better health and is doing !ell in his new home.

Bishop Cleary, accompanied by the Rev. Father Kehoe, who is on a visit to His Holiness the Pope, arrived in Rome on Friday last. His Lordship will go from Rome to Great Britain and Ireland, and will then return to Auckland, where he is due back about the end of the year. There passed away on Sunday morning after a brief illness at Wellington an old and respected resident of Hawke’s Bay in the person of Mr Robert Wilson. Mr Wilson had come to Wellington to see his son, who is a member of the 13th Reinforcements. The deceased gentleman was for many years a successful dairy farmer at Dannevirke, and later was sheepfarming at Hatuma. He leaves a widow, two daughters (Mrs H. Wright, Hatuma, and Mrs R. Baxter, Ashburton) and five sons.
