(By "Consul.") Jem, who recently changed hands, is probably the biggest horse racing in the Dominion; he stands 17.2. The gelding will be taken possession of by his new owner, Mr Murray, after the Wellington meeting, at which he will race in J. Prosser's colours. It is estimated that the racing public for its holiday racing festivities, spent over £IIO,OOO in railway fares, admission fares, and ordinary travelling expenses. Then there is to be added the 10 per cent totalisator fees and fractions. The record sum of £850,000 passed through the machine during the holiday period. J Hathaway has Distinction in work, but it will be well in the autumn before he will be in condition to race. T George, who took Monologue to the West Cast, has returned to Palmerston. Monologue won two races for his owner, Mr H. Wolland. WOODVILLE RACING CLUB. Attention is drawn to the programme of the Woodville Racing Club's Autumn Meeting, to be held on Wednesday and Thursday, February 17th and 18th, 1915, published today. There are eight events each dav, the prize money being liberally distributed over all races, the Woodville Cup of £250 sovs., taking pride of place. Nominations for all events close on the Ist February, 1915, and acceptances on the 11th February, 1915.
