VIENNA ALARMED.
GOVERNMENT TO QUIT.
PREPARING FOR SIEGE.
ROME, Oct. 3
A message from Vienna states that the military authorities have ordered fortification of the suburbs and adjacent towns and made preparations for ultimate removal of the capital to Prague. This has caused alarm to the population, who are leaving.
NEW RUSSIAN ADVANCE.
BUCHAREST, Oct. 3
After occupying the principal towns of Huekovina the Russians have begun to advance. The Austrians have concentrated several army corps, including those formerly on the Servian border, in order to defeat the movement. A big battle is imminent. POWER OF IGNORANCE. (Times.— Sydney Sun Service.) LONDON, Oct. 3. Austrians of all ranks in Cattaro are kept in ignorance of the progress of events. They are not even allowed to know what is happening in adjoining centres, because there is covert fliHßaffection and constant betrayal* .
