OTTAWA, August 11. The Admiralty has cancelled the Bailings of the principal Allan Line steamtrs. It is understood the ships are intended to carry troops and reservists from Canada to England. The Alberta province has offered a full war supply of Albertan oats for the British army. British Columbia is offering supplies of apples and canned salmon for the British troops. Owing to the rush to enlist the Ottawa authorities are raising the standard and only picked troop» will be sent from Canada. A strange vessel in the St. Lawrence caused the closing of the ports. The Militia Department is investigating, and it is thought likely that she is the German cruiser recently sighted off Newfoundland. OTTAWA, August 11. Mr Patrick Burns, a cattle king of Calgary, offers 50,000 dollars to equip a Legion of Frontiersmen.
