Notice is given of an examination to be held on 17th and ISth July by the Plumbers' Board of New Zealand for the purposes of registration under the Plumbers' Registration Act. That sterling rider, S. Burtinshaw, put up a really fine performance in the Australian Championships at the amateur sports carnival held at Brisbane on the 4th inst. He accounted for the half-mile and ten-mile Australian championships also the two State championships and a series of victories never before equalled at one meeting. It is noteworthy that Burtinshaw rode a bicycle built of the famous B.S.A. fittings to which he attributes its due share of his wonderful burst of speed.
