VANCOUVER, June 2
Upon receiving intelligence from India that Lord Hardinge (Viceroy)was unable to secure the entrance of Hindus to Canada the Komagata Maru's contingent decided to abandon the fight and return to India. Counsel who were attempting to secure their admission announce that they have given up their briefs.
A RIOT THREATENED
OTTAWA, June 3
The Hindus aboard the Komagata Maru threatened to r'ot unless allowed to land. The city police were called out to preserve order. The immigration authorities withdrew their special officers stationed aboard as their presence was obnoxious to the Hindus who thereupon declared themselves satisfied.
