Relations between the United States and Japan are drifting to dangerous water, which is perilously near. An impasse will be reached if there is any truth in reports from Tokio that on account of the domestic situation, the Japanese Government are determined to find in the Californian Land Laws an excuse to press for equal treatment of their nationals by nations of the West. American opinion is adamant against Asiatic admixture.
