Tynan was_ charged with attempted murder of his daughter Evelyn, whom he waylaid when she was leaving school and cut her throat with a razor. Prisoner sat through the proceedings unconcernedly, as hav.'ig apparently only a spectator's interest in the evidence, though occasionally he displayed signs of nervous srress. Detective MacMahon stated that prisoner, when arrested, expressed a desire to be hanged without delay. Mrs Tynan stated that her husband had threatened her previously with a razor, but she never heard him threaten her children. He had been drinking to excess. Tynan, when asked to plead, remained silent and was committed for trial.
