MUTINOUS CREW.

ON STORM-TOSSED STEAMER. GALLANT OFFICER. SWIMS IN SEETHING SEA. LONDON, yesterday. The Chilian Government steamer Maipo, which signalled for help while in distress, has reached Falmouth. Her cargo shifted on Wednesday during a furious gale, her steering gear was smashed, boats were lost and deck fittings and hatches swept overboard. The crew were mutinous, and looted the stores. They were overpowered and bound with ropes. The Northam responded to wireless appeals and a boat was launched with- [ out success. Second Officer Evans swam through tremendous seas, and carried a line to the Maipo. The towline broke after two hours, but meanwhile the steering gear had been repaired and the steamer reached port convoyed by the Northam.
