' "Bj Telegraph.—Press Association. !# ' WELLINGTON, March 23. The Ber. D. C. Bates reports:— Summary.—The barometer has been very high in the south but fell on Sunday and is now comparatively low in the north. Bain has fallen in many parts with strong southerly winds and the weather* is generally dull. Forecast. —Present indications are for strong south to south-east winds, cloudy and misty weather with rain over the North Island and East Coast of the South Island. Heavy rain is probable with rivers rising between the East Cape and Castlepoint. The barometer is unsteady, but rising temporarily in the South.
