THE TRACTION QUESTION
| At this evening's meeting of Palmerston Borough Council, Cr. F. J. Nathan will move vnat to ascertain the wishes of the ratepayers as to the kind of passenger Traction to be installed in the borough, or if any * >id of traction is required, the voting paper be in the following form: — 1. I vote for an OVERHEAD ELECTRIC TRAMWAY SYSTEM, about 8 miles in length, to cost £BO,OOO 2. I vote for a SELF-PRO-PELLED TRAMWAY SYSTEM, about 5 miles in length, to csst £50,000 3. I vote for a MOTOR BUS SYSTEM, about 18 miles in length, to cost (including the preparation of streets) £15,000 4. I vote AGAINST ANY MUNICIPAL SYSTEM OF TRACTION. DIRECTIONS: N.B.—The voter must only leave one line not marked out, or th® voting paper will be informal, and the line thus left unmarked will be deemed to represent the opinion of the voter. It is distinctly understood that the Council is yiot legally bound by the result cf the voting, and that the result arrived at does not in any way authorise a loan being raised for any of the proposals.
