Last week an enjoyable diningroom tea was given by Dustin's, Ltd., employees to the head waitress, Miss I. lanson, who is to be named shortly. The guest was the recipient of useful presents. Mr Drummond, on behalf of Miss lanson, responded to the toast of her health and prosperity. Dr. A. A. Martin left by the midnight express on a visit to Te Kuiti. He returns in a few days and then proceeds south for a fortnight's fishing before leaving for Home and the Continent. Mr J. H. Wallace, of Eketahuna, lias just received intimation that he has been granted the military veteran's pension. Mr Wallace served during the Maori war in 1868-69 in the Wanganui and Taranaki districts. He was at that time only fifteen years of age, and tnere was only one younger in the troop. The Rendezvous will be open as usual next Wednesday until noon, from which hour the customary halfholiday will be observed. At present the firm are showing a pleasing variety of Hats for little boys. In plush with suede finish, corduroy and felts. Peter Pan shapes and smart Hats in Teddy Bear plush will be found here, too. Prices range from Is lid to 4s 3d; the Hats can be seen in the window.
