THE SATURDAY COMPETITION.
OPENING OF THE SEASON.
The Saturlay Cup competition was started on the Sportsground on Saturday. Tbe weather was very 00l , a strong wiud also making it uncomfortable for playing cri°ket. A stiower of ram stopped play for a time. HIGH SCHOOL v KAIL WAY. High School won the toss and batted first. Bartlett and Q. Greer were the bowlers, and runs were hard to get, the firmer signalling bis reap* pearanoe in local cricket by capturing seven wickets. When tb« newly formed Railway Clab went J n to bat they collaped before thb bowling of Tucker aud Hodder, the total only reaching 28 The game will be concluded next Saturday.
