T e monthly meeting of the Board was held yesteriay, Mr J. G Wilsou pre3iding Present:— Messrs Hornblow, Harfor ! , Vincent, Clausen, Moslem, Pearce, Kendall, Fowler, Bruce, Bryant, Nathan and Howie. CORRESPONDENCE.

INCREASING FEES. Mr Fowler introducad t)e question of charges for admittance to the hospita l an" considered that any person should have the right to enter the public i ospital if they desired by ayiug an increase I fee. To Chairman sai ? if t ey raised the fees they wor.ld have a sort of Dutch auction going on botweeu t e patients and t e secretary, and many would say that they could not afford to pay the increase < fees. Mr Harford strongly objected to the fees being increased as a good many people might be shut out on this account. No action was taken.
The secretary was aut' oiisel to sail for tenders for the new i iphtlnria ward, rein ving the fever ward, an > erection of new nurses home, when the plans are ready, and that ten ers be in by next meeting of the Boar .
