THE NEW MODEL "TRIUMPHS' ARRIVE. To improve upon the 1912-13 ''Triumph" would seem to most experienced motor-cyclists an almost impossible task something akin to painting the lily or gilding refined gold. / The Triumph has for many years set the world's standard in motor cycles, and its supremacy has not jet been seriously threatened. It has not been necessary to correct faults in its designs, for none existed, out in the models just arrived in Christchurch, there are certain definite aid distinct improvements in matters of detail. One of the most important of these is the new concave piston head, which has enhanced the enormous power and wonderful flexibility which have always characterised the Triumph engine. The new three-speed Triumph i« the last word in side-car machines, and prospective purchasers are invited to take a trial trip to test the threespeed model's hill climbing powers with a side-car. The Triumph succ* sees in local competition continue unabated. On Saturday at New Brighton beach the "'Triumph" made fastest time for single cylinder machines in all three events. In the eight miles side-car event/F. Haworth (Triumph) was first and made fastest time of any single cylinder machine, and G. B. Brown, (Triumph) made second fastest time in the single cylinder class The Triumph is also the machine ridden by Mr G. B. Brown when he broke the Christchurch Kaikoura and back record, cutting 2hr 21 minutes off the previous record time, the finest performance over rough hill country ever put up in JN'ew Zealand.
