SWEEPING CLAIMS.
OVER LAND DEAL. JPreaa Association.—By Telegraph. Dannevirke, April 22. Litigation of an interesting character* is pending over a Taboraite native section. J. T. \> llson entered into negotiations with natives for the purchase of 420 acres. He got the transfer signed, and paid oyer £2OOO of the purchase price. Tne natives made application to the Ikaroa Native Land Board for confirmation of the sale, and this was gazetted and adjourned. It was alleged the Maori Land Purchase Board wired the natives to go to Wellington, and bought the land and paid the whole purchase price, between £BOOO and £9OOO. Wilson, who sold his business to pay the natives, was left moneyless, landless, and without a business. It was admitted the natives did not inform the Maori Land Purchase Board of the transaction with Wilson, but it is alleged the members of the Board were aware of it. Proceedings will be commenced against the natives for breach of contract, the Native Land Purchase Board members for allegedly procuring the natives to break the contract, and against the Crown for damages and an injunction against the registration of transfer.
