BILLIARDS AND BOWLS.
GEISSON CUP CONTEST. The first match for the above was played on Saturday at Feilding between the members of the Rangitikei Club and Palmerston North Working Men's Club. The conditions of the games were as follows, every point scored at bowls by the winning team was to count 10 in their favour. At billiards, four games of 200 up were played. The following represented Feilding at bowls: Thompson, Garrett, James, Saywell (s). The Palmerston reps, wereS. Russel, F. Shortt, R. Sollitt, F. J. Tasker (s). The local team were away at the start and at the tenth head were 12 to Palmerston's 3, at the 18th head the score was 17 all, the 21st head Paimerston were 19 to Feilding's 18, and the 24th head both were even again at 22. On the last head Feilding scored one and just managed to win.
The Feilding reps, at billiards wereßailey, James, Delbridge, Lonis, their scores being—Billiards 639, bowls 10, total 649. The Palmerston reps, wereF. Shortt, F. Wells, F. Mills, F. J. Tasker, their scores being—792, 143 oter their opponents. $ The members of the Rangitikei Billiard and Bowling Clubs looked after the welfare of the visitors in their usual liberal manner and they propose coming here shortly to try and capture the Cup again. DIXON CUP AND TUCKER BADGES. A team from Masterton came over on Saturday to try aud wrest the above trophies from the holders—L. Seifert, A. Harris, J. Young, J. A. Nash (skip). The local team easily held their own, their score being—2l against the visiting team—T. Hergham, A. Chapman, F. Staples, C. Pragnell (s)—9. A rink from Woodville are the next on the list- ; and a team from Foxton propose to come shortly and try their luck against the holders.
