VIGOROUS TACTICS. EXPLODE A STATION. AND WRECK A TRAIN.

The suffragettes nearly succeeded in blowing up the railway station at Oxted, and also partly wrecked an empty train with explosives, near Stockport. The explosion at Oxted blew out the walls. A travelling basket was found with a tin of petrol unexpioded. A clock bomb was timed for three in the morning. The fuse was fired, but did not ignite the petrol. The perpetrators dropped a nickle-plated pistol outside the station.
Each of the seventeen stationary empty carriages at Stockport contained an explosive. The gas cylinder of one carriage was saturated with paraffin. When it was wrecked it fell over an embankment and thus prevented the lire from spreading. A suffragette named Isabel has been sentenced to six months' hard labour for window smashing in Holborn. GOVERNMENT BILL PREPARED VOTES FOR SIX MILLION. London, April 4. Sir John Simon's Liberal Committee has prepared a Bill enfranchising six million women, and entitling all over twenty-five to be registered if they possess a household qualification similar to the men. It also gives a vote to the wife of every man who fulfils the householder qualification.

private Bill yesterday. MURE FIRES. POLICE MAKE CAPTURES. Received 5.5 p.m. London, April 5. Suffragettes burned unoccupied mansions at Cliorleywood valued at £2500.
The police captured two suffragettes attempting to set fire to a new grandstand on the Kelso racecourse with the aid of.paiafin. Little damage was done.
