The Hon. H. D. Bell, Minister for Internal Affairs, left Auckland by last night's express train for Wellington, passing through Palmerston en'route this morning.

Lady Heron, who has been a guest of Mrs Kitcat, Marton, left yesterday for Sydney, en route for England.

Mr H. Seifert has been approached to stand for the Borough Council at the forthcoming elections. We understand, it is probable he will agree to do so.

Mr S. Drew, of the staff of th« Union Bank of Australia, who ha* been moved to the Wellington Office, was last evening presented by All Saints' choir with a laige copy of hymns Ancient and Modern.

The Premier and the Minister for Public Works were entertained at a banquet at New Plymouth on Friday by the Borough Council, County Council, and Chamber of Commerce. Next morning Mr Fraser left for Wellington, and Mr Massey visit* Waitara, Ingle wood and the North Egmont mountain house. Mr and Mrs A. Seifert leave Palmerston for Auckland by to-night's express. TAt Auckland they join th« Macedonia on Friday for England. Mr Seifeit will not offer himself to the municipal electors a» a Councillor on this occasion, as hi will be away a considerable portion of the sitting period, but he state* that he may do on a later occasion.
