HOW TO ENJOY GOOD MEALS AND GOOD WINES WITHOUT SUFFERING FROM STOMACH TROUBLES.
It is a well-known fact among physicians and even most people, that he who dities too well and likes wines will sooner or later become the victim of stomach acidity. In a recent medical article an eminent physician states that too much acid Should never be permitted in the stomach, because it irritates ih*; stomach walls, causing ulcers, and in time developing cancerous growths. The acidity is generally signalised by indigestion after- taking wines, thick sauces, fruit or coffee, and the doctor believes this is the real reason for most stomach complaints. In his own case, as well as among his patients, he found that ordinary bisurated magnesia quickly neutralises the acid and make it disap pear, thus enabling the digestive organs to properly perform their natural functions.
Although this is such a simple and harmless remedy, the Medical Report tells of a lady who had sui.rie'l f<>r years from what had been -e«i as ulcer of the stomach, and whom it completely cured in a few weeks time. As bisurated magnesia is <juite inexpensive and can he procured lrom any good chemist, we publish this extract from the doctor's account of his experience, for the benefit of readers who wish to enjoy eating well without suffering !>ad after-effects.
