Mrs Gordon has been committed for trial on a charge of murdering her brother-in-law, Frank GordonEvidence was given that they lived together as man and wife, but were constantly drinking and quarrelling. Frank Lloyd was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment in connexion with the J. D. Williams' shares' ease. Judge Backhouse declined to treat him as a first offender but said he thought Lloyd would not have to serve the whole sentence. He added" "I kno\y that in cases of this class actual punishment very often falls upon innocent persona It is that fact which makes me almost* hate committing this man."
