ENTERTAINMENTS.
FULLER'S PICTURES. When Mr Bates is predicting a frosfc there is no place in Palmerston cosier than His Majesty's Theatre; and just now there is no place more entertaining, as last night's big audience discovered. The present programme is an evenly balanced one from beginning to end, maintaining the interest with a fluent ease throughout. There is rare luxury in a restful seat at this wellconducted house while the prettyanimal scenic is screened or Path© Gazette reels off the news of the world making you up-to-date with no effort on your part. Last night's audience revelled in the several comedies and watched fascinated the three or four good dramas. s<"The Strike," "Mother of the Ranch," and "The Mayor's Crusade," stirred the houseful to she depth of their feelings. But greatest of all the subjects was "The Smart Lady Detective. " This is one of the memorable dramas that one discusses afterwards. All should see its last appearance to-night. A FAMOUS VIOLINIST. Herr Raimund Pechotsch, the famous Austrian violin virtuoso and professor from the principal London Academies, who under the direction of Mr Crosby Braund, the well known American Entrepreneur, will make his first, appearance here on Friday, 28th March. Herr Pechotsch comes here with a big reputation subsequent to a most successful career in London, the provinces and latterly Melbourne and Sydney. The musical critic of the Sporting aad Dramatic Review, writing under date the 6th of March, 1913, said:—"Undoubredly it is one of the strongest combination that has ever set out to tour the Dominion. In brief it may be remarked that the playing of "Herr Pechotoch is a revelation, a triumph of finished technique, the tone poem of the master passion that is born of gen ius. Moreover in the interpretation of histrionic studies he proclaims himself to be an artist to his finger tips." Herr Pechotsch will be supported by a brilliant coterie of talent including Mrs Stewart Stevenson, brilliant American soprano; Miss Mabel Seccombe, popular contralto: Mr A. H. Ripley, silver tenor; Mr Alan Bailey, premier bass and Madame Pechotsch at the piano. Popular prices will be charged.
