Mr E. 0. Jack, Dominion secretary of the Farmers' Union, ha» been seriously ill. Mr F. O. Edwards, of the firm of R. P. Edwards and Sons, Ltd., Palmerston North, left yesterday on a busines tour to Europe.

Mr Nelson Cox returned to Wellington by the Tainui on M©nday last from a year's visit to relatives in the Old Country and the Continent.

The many friends of Mr J. Small, farmer, Kairanga, will regret to learn that he is seriously ill at a private hospital in Palmers v on. Dr. W. J. Hislop has been appointed honorary surgeon of the Wellington Hospital in place of Dr. Herbert, who has obtained twelve months' leave of absence in order to visit England. The Rev. H. G. Kosher, of Palmerston, will occupy the pulpit at New Plymouth on Good Friday, but will return for the Sunday services at All Saints' Church. The pulpit at All Saints' on Good Friday will be occupied by the Rev. A. H. Colville.

A little lad named McDonald, son of Mr and Mrs D. B. McDonald, of Waverley, met with a painful accident on Friday night last. He fell from the stage in the Waverley Town Hall to the floor and sustained the fracture of an arm.

Mr L. .Jenks, son of Mr and Mrs F. E. Jenks, of Foxton, is travelling by the Molravia to England, where he will enter upon a two years' course of study at the Kensington School of Art.

At St. Andrew's Church yesterday Mr J. T. Hill, of Bunnythorpe, was married to Miss Emily Buchanan, fourth daughter of Mr J. C. Buchanan, Borough Inspector. The service was performed by the Rev. Doull. Mr V. Hill was best man, and the bridesmaids were Misses Ethel Buchanan and Lilly Hill. The guests were entertained at Dustin's, Ltd.
