WARNINGS TO MARINERS.

INSPECTION AT THREE KINGS. Association.—By Telegraph. Auckland, Last Night. After a personal inspection of the Three Kings Mr Allport, Seretary for Marine, reports that he cruised all round the islands in a launch. His definite conclusion was that it is not feasible to place any kind of warning device on the Western King. A first-class light should be placed on the Big King. He believed the most suitable site was on the S. W. side of the island, at a height of about 5300 feet. An automatic fog signal was also required. The Hon. F. M. B. Fisher stated that negotiations have been opened with the Federal Government with a view to obtaining a contribution towards the cost. Mr Allport states a light will soon be required, on the North Cape. A splendid site is available on the island just off the cape, at a height of 100 feet.
