WORK COMMENCING. i Press Association.—By Telegraph. Timaru, Last Night. The Smithfield and Pareora freezing works started quietly to-day with a few killers. It is expected that when work is begun applications will be made more freely. AT HASTINGS. Hastings, Last Night. The strike may be said to have collapsed as far as Hawke's Bay is concerned.
