RECORD DAY AT HASTINGS

(Press Association.—By Telegraph Hastings, Last Night.

The tennis championships were continued at Hastings to-day. The weather was perfect. There was such a large attendance of people to see the noted English players that 500 new seats had to be provided. It is considered that the meeting was a record for N. 7. Grand play was witnessed throughout the day. Results:— Beamish' (England) beat Fisher (N.Z.), 6-2, 6-2, 7-5. - Dixon and Parke (Englair.l) beat Ollivier and Goss (N.Z.), 7—5, 6—3, 4—6, 6—l. Ollivier beat Peacock, 6—o, 6 —3, 6—3.

Goss beat Dixon, 7—5, 6—2, 13—11. Wellwood and Waddington lost to Beamish and The semi-finals take place to-mor-row, and the finals on Wednesday morning. The Governor, Lord Liverpool, has arrived.
