AID TO PARENTS.
CARING FOR THE YOUNG. (Press Association. —By Telegraph. Wellington, Yesterday. The Education Department is carrying into effect a scheme, outlined in the Budget, under which juvenile delinquents, not under sufficient parental control, can be placed by a Magistrate under the supervision of a responsible officer. Officials who are appointed to act in that capacity are: — Wellington—Mr Mills, of the Presbyterian Orphanage. Christchurch —Mr Rule, the social service agent of the Presbyterian Church. Dunedin—Mr Axelson. Auckland—Mr Shell, formerly of the Mission to Seamen at Wellington.
