LONDON THE WINNER,
(Press Association. —By Telegraph. Wanganui, Dec. 29. The Wanganui Centre bowling tourney was brought to a close on Saturday, when London, Wanganui, won tho final. Gordon, St. John's, was the runner-up. Following were the principal results: — Semi-finals Hoggard, Keesing, Dickson and London, Wanganui, 2;5, v. R. Gray, Robertson, Scrivener and Soler, St. Johns, 1; Richings, Bourne, Christie and Gordon, St. John's, 27, v. Phillips, P%mtree, Morey, and H. Smart, Feilding, 14. Final—London, Wanganui, 22; Gordon, St. John's, 14.
END OF BOWLING TOURNEY
Timaru, Dec. 28. In the last match of the bowling tournament, a pairs match, Herron and Waddell, Phoenix, Oamaru, defeated W. Hogg and M WcLaren, Dunedin, 39—5. PALMERSTON CLUB. The greens have beefi fairly well partonised during the past week. On Boxing Day a Club pairs tournament was held. W. Mundy and J. A. Nash, the winners, were in great fettle and went through without a loss. H. N. Watson and Marris were the unlucky ones, never having a win all day. The Club will hold a progressive pairs tournament on N«w Year's Day, play commencing at 9.15. On Saturday next a team from the Shannon Club will try to capture the Dixon Cup and Tucker Badges. Play will commence at 1.30. The following is the result of Club games played during the past week: — ,
Third Round—Singles—Fraser 21; v. Kissel 12; Tasker 21, v. Burge 8 A. Pickering 21, v. Torstensen 10 Young 21, v. Tremewanls; Hodgson 21, v. J. A. Nash 16. Pairs—Torstensen 22, v. Bropliy 13; Fraser 21, ,v. Marris 19. All unfinished games in this round will be struck out after December 31st (to-morrow).
