THE TURF.
| TRAINING NOTES. (By "Bon Ton. ") Awapnni, Thursday. The morning was dull and cloudy and the tracks were again quiet, the "work being of a very uninteresting nature. D. Buick, jun., was the first out ■with Vibration, Taonui, Portraiture and Rangiatua, all doing useful tasks. The latter went twice round slowly, sprinting over tho last two furlongs. G. Price's team were the next to get going, and were all allotted light tasks. Gladiole sprinted a couple of furlongs in great style. T. George has the mare in good fettle at present, and it will be surprising if she is not a place-getter at the coming meeting. Monologue ran a good five furlongs on her own. Makara went once round, and ' galloped well over the last four ftirlongs. Byron did light work, and seems very well. Passedena, Heather, Allurement, Bonnie Boy, Orleans and Martlet all did light work. Lady Nolan and Lady Ruby had a gallop over six furlongs, the latter finishing the best. Papamarama went twice round, sprinting in the straight. Flingot, looking well, did light ■work.
