NEW TOTE.

TRIALS UNFINISHED. Prei*i Aesn—By Telegraph—Copyright Auckland, Last Night. Since the public trial of the new totaliastor at Ellerslie on Saturday last, the committee have made several further tests of the mechanism with a view to getting certain necessary adjustments made in time for the opening of the summer meeting on Boxing Day. Unfortunately it has been found impossible to have the machine in such working order by Boxing Day as to justify the committee making it the medium for public speculation, and under these circumstances they must revert to the use /of the old totalisator for the coming meeting.
