Also started: 'Kadiater, Duraus, Crown Giaut, Wonleriua, Posadas, Flaitlj, Sanskrit, Posio, and Piastre. Durdaus led round the turn from Posio, Oisoo. Sauskrit and Woolerina, with Jacamar last. On the outside Wookrina ran to the front and led past the bridge from Posio, Sanskrit, Kadiater, Oisoo, Jacamar and Wilari. In the last Ave furlongs the field was well bunched, bacainar lying third, Jacamar led into the straight from Piastre, Woolerina and Oisoo. Then Wilari dashed in. followed by Crown Graut and Flaith, and' after a splendid finish Wilari won by a head, half a length, be* tween second and third, .Crown Grant was funrth- aud then Flaith, Time, 2.3%
Melbourne Stakes of 100 C sovs, 1% miles.—Trafalgar 1, Beverage 2, Parißian 3. Also Btarted: Flavel, Comedy KiDg, Cadonia, Auroi'ndina, Lady Medallist. Flavel led off from Parisian, Anrofodina, Lady Medallist, Cadonia, Trafalgar and Beverage. The latter ran iuto first place at the baok from Flavel, Anrofodina, Parisian, Lady Medallist, Oomedy King, Oadouia, and Trafalgar. Aurofodiua then drew up to Beverage, and Trafalgar was still last. The ehestunt then pat in a strong gallop aud canght Beverage in the straight. Oomedy King, under the whip, failed to respond, aud Trafalgar, fall of running, won by a leugtii, three lengths between second and third. Time, 2.1%.
