Gentlemen,-I have thb licuour to submit for your information a review for the ?far ending 24th M:v, 1911, regarding licensing matters. Through the Oroua Licensing District all hotels have been conducted in a most exemplary manner. Two couvictious have been recorded apairsc cue licensee during the past three ypars. In September, 1909, being inexperienced in hntelkeeping, he ceased to hold a license. The district is practically clenn and free from orime. I S'ibmit that the following will show the population hero to be of good moral standing, and a sober people. , lie c nsos returns foi 1911, for the whde of tne Ornua electorate, show a population of 10,1i98, The number of convictions for drunkenness during the year ending 24th May, 1911, throDghout the district have ueeu 44, which gives approximately 4 pei 1000 of the population. The number of nrnhibition orders granted whs 16, this b p ing aboot one-half per thousaudof the population. Only four persons during the past year were convicted for breaohea of prohibition orders. "The Orona Electoral roll shows 5,487 of adult population, hence, taking those figures it gives approximately convictions for drunkenness
