Some lutsresting Data " copy of which was soot to os for o'nr perusal. and after reaiing EKuse and noticing that it wss asserted that rec'iit efficiency tssts rnada by tho Metropolitan Board of Works re. suited as follows: Mather and Piatt Filters 1 Oatidy 2 Ms ; 4 Pulsometar 4 \ We on the 27th inst., sent the M~ \ lowing cable to our principals, Mtssrsßell Bros,, RavoDsthorpe Competitors publisher] state, meat recent t st by Metropolitan Brard of Works. Loudon, hos restilted in following order:—Mather Plntt, Candy, Bells, Pulsometsr. If this correot telegraph particulate it is of the utmost importance." and on the 28th wo received the following cable from Messrs Bell Bros.: to yonr oabla 27th. Statsmont refers to speed only of filters not to efficiency. We intarviewed iSogiueer Metropolitan Board of Worts, London, and was informed that no decision re efficiency would bo arrived at for a lone time yet. Metropolitan Board '■ of Works, London, were informed by Mather and Piatt their filter nnsnitablo alnmitrium treatment and obtained permission and have just replaced by rotating single sow cleaning type requiring 30 efleetive horse power. Filters experimental is a failure at present " Messrs Bell Bros, are not at all ooncerned about any tests which Imve been made regarding speed of filters, as the greater the speed probably the less efficipnoy and wliafc Bolls are prepared to do is to stand ' bßliiud any gnaranteis they make regarding effioiency aud another point abont Bolls' niakfl of filter ia its simplicity in oonstruotioD, and tlie very simple manner required for cleansing thoronghJy, In tlie concluding paiagraph of the above atfciclo referred to as appealing in the Mamwatu Times it whs suggested that Mather and Plait's Filter may cost more than the other niaktSj and we as Bell Bros' agents, respectfnlly point out that it is not at all necessary that more mmey should be paid for the Mather and Piatt make of Filter tlftn Bell Bros, as Bel's are prepared to guarantee their filtois to do Hverythiug that Mather and Piatt ifiltets will do, aud considerably more, Regarding the other makes of filters the ohief objeotiou teems to b? the complicated ioteri,al arrangement and the difficulty iu efieotive cleaning, Trnsting yon will see your way " clear to publish the above and thus remove any false impressions createdby auy information oontained in yours as referred to. Thanking yoa in anticipation, We are, eto., RIOHAKDSON BLAIR & McOABB. LTD. ULTAN MeOABE, Director.
