STUCK REPORT,
The N.Z.L. and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Palmerston North, report:—At Hiruataugi on Monday we had an ootry of 1000 sheep and over 700 head of catle. Competition was brisk and all lines of sheep were sold. Cattle came forward in excess of adveitised numbers, and the oapaclty of the yards wore taxed to the utmost, Over 100 different, lots were offered, The tfarbers' yeuilinfig failed to liau buyers although £2los was offered for the heifers and £3 5s for the steers, bat with this exoeption very little was tamed ont unsold. A keeu demand existed for young dairy heifers to go to tue bull, and a very nioe line of well grown, well conditioned yearling heifers-Jersey-Ayrshire oross—offered on account of Mr R. Milligau, of Carnarvon, elicited keen competition, aud were knocked down ti Mr W. Devine at £5 Is, a record for the district. Quotations:—Sheep: Fat ewes 15s to 18s Gi, store ewfis )Os 8:i to lis 2d, inferior hoggets 7s 7d to 10s, medium ewe hoggets !2s 7d, wether hoggets 12s G;l to 12s lOd.
