HAYWARD'S PICTURES.

NEW SERIES TO-NIGHT. Another entirely now series of the latest and bsst in oinematographio subjects will bo soreened to-night at the Zealandia Hall to the acoornpammont of new and bright selections by the tanefnl conoert orchestra. From the Edison studio comes a comedy drama whioh is highly reoommended entitled "A Great Seoret." A young lady artist journeys from Amerioa to Paris and goes out to do some sketching near a fortification. Instructions are given to arrest her, but she cleverly sucoeeds in outwitting her would be oaptors and she is ttaoked 'baoK to the States. The comedy of the film is very good, the actual life on an Atlantic liner. being showu and the young lady's quite satisfactory, but -amusing explanation of her sketohiug on forbidden ground causes disoomfiture to tho deteotives.Among subjects which have attracted much interest elsewhere is a fine him, giving an excellent idea of the essentially French industry of snail rßisiug for the delicate ,palates of Parisian gourmets. "A Sin Unpardonable" is desoribed as a very stronc dramatio in whioh a lumberman metes out in the good old fashioued way well merited punishment to an old friond who proves unfaithfnl. In "A Double Elopement," some very amusing situations arise,' but in the end the tangled skein is unravelled. "Friendship Tested" is highly spoken of as a drama calculated to securo and sustain atteufcion. The always attractive Pathe Gazette will again be in evidence. A liberal sntiply of fan makers will also find a plaoo in the programme including films ot Callno, Foolshead, and Toutolini. As is onstomary a complete change of musical items will b9 given.
